Your Responsibilities:

• Content Curation:
  • Select top trending stories for the homepage and determine positioning based on audience metrics, editorial priorities, and data on current trends. 
  • Develop and evolve homepage posting rules.
  • Assist the editorial teams in developing high-quality category pages. 
  • Regularly review analytics (e.g. page views, social engagement) to identify high-performing content.
      
• Content Quality Assurance:
  • Enforce established image-quality criteria. 
  • Verify that all images include accurate alt text and comply with accessibility guidelines.
  • Ensure all titles featured on the homepage are up to Screen Rant standards and reflect current guidelines.
      
• Content Freshness:
  • Ensure homepage stories are no older than the defined content-age threshold.
  • Audit and rotate out stale or low-performing items on a set schedule or as needed depending on the news cycle.
      
• Collaboration & Coordination:
  • Liaise with developers or CMS administrators to troubleshoot display or performance issues.
      
• Optimization & Maintenance:
  • Perform routine checks to confirm that all homepage links, images, and assets render correctly across devices and browsers.
      
• Quality Control:
  • Conduct periodic audits against Screen Rant’s homepage style guide and quality checklist.
  • Document and report any deviations, then work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.

Skills and Experience:

• Education & Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in digital content curation or editorial roles, with hands-on responsibility for a high-traffic homepage or major web section.

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of image formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP), resolution, compression techniques, and responsive web design.
      
• Editorial Judgment & Aesthetic Sense:
  • Exceptional news judgment and the ability to spot “big” or timely stories.
  • Keen eye for visual composition, color balance, and overall professionalism.
      
• Analytical & Organizational Skills:
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Trends, etc.) to assess content performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills to hit tight publishing deadlines.
      
• Collaboration & Communication:
  • Clear, proactive communication style; able to work cross-functionally with designers, developers, and editors.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback to uphold quality standards.
      
• Desirable (but not required):
  • Experience with SEO best practices and content accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Prior background in a fast-paced news or media environment.
